Rosemarie "Rosi" Ackermann is a German former high jumper, Olympic champion and multiple world record holder. In Berlin on 26 August 1977, she became the first female high jumper to clear a height of two metres. Rosemarie Ackermann (East Germany) set the women's high jump world record of 1.96 m in Dresden on July 3, 1977. It stood 42 days, until Rosemarie Ackermann's 1.97 m on August 14, 1977. Wiki link
