About

“Centerfold” is a song about a man’s high school heartthrob ending up as the main feature of an adult magazine. The band originally wanted “Angel In Blue” to be the album’s first single, but the record company suggested “Centerfold” be first instead. It is the band’s only No. 1 song, spending 6 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1982. The success of “Centerfold” went beyond just the US, however. It topped the charts in Canada and Belgium as well, and reached the top 5 in several other countries overseas. The song tasted the limelight once more, albeit briefly, when it was remixed by Captain Jack and re-purposed for the 2006 release of DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA.
