About

One of the best examples of one-hit wonders – the only hit of the duo Zager and Evans that sat on top of the charts for 6 weeks in 1969, and was the no. 1 hit of the year in many countries. Curiously – the song hit no. 1 a week before Apollo 11’s moon landing. The futuristic song (written in 1964) was a perfect fit for the ‘60s generation, not sure about the present and much less about the future. From the album 2525 (Exordium & Terminus) – beginning and end – tightly connected to the subject of its theme song.
