About
“Indian Reservation” was first recorded by Marvin Rainwater in 1959 under the title “The Pale Face Indian,” but it received little attention. In 1968, Don Fardon recorded the song. It peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the U.K. Singles chart. Paul Revere and the Raiders covered the song for their 1971 album Indian Reservation. Their version topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a week in July of 1971. It was certified Gold for selling over a million copies and later certified Platinum for selling an additional million copies.
