Snow wrote this song while he was in jail charged with two attempted murders, he ended up spending a year in Toronto’s East Detention Center maximum security prison. After coming out he met MC Shan and recorded the song. He went back to do a 8 month bid for aggravated assault, and it was during this jail-stay that the song caught on and started getting airplay. It proceeded to top charts world wide and currently holds the record for the top selling reggae single of all time.
