About
Producer Arthur Baker, known for his recent work on the breakdancing film Beat Street, was recruited to give “Out Of Touch” a distinctly urban feel. It was released as Hall & Oates' first single from their twelfth album. A music video was subsequently released featuring an extended version of the song with an additional intro. The song remains the duo’s last song to top the Billboard Hot 100, holding the position for 2 weeks in 1984. It also topped Billboard’s dance music chart and appeared on the R&B and Rock charts. Overseas, it reached the top 40 in five countries.
