About

Released in February 1979 as the second single off of Spirits Having Flown, this disco track hit #1 in both the UK and the US. On the Billboard Hot 100, it became the fifth of six consecutive #1s for the Bee Gees, tying the record with the Beatles for most consecutive #1s. (That record was broken by Whitney Houston who currently tops the list with 7 consecutive #1s). Barry, Robin and Maurice composed the song along with “Too Much Heaven” and “Shadow Dancing” during some downtime while filming the universally panned 1978 Beatles tribute film Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
