Australian pop duo Savage Garden released a string of smash hits in the late ‘90s, but 1997’s “Truly Madly Deeply” became their signature song. Vocalist Darren Hayes reflected on the song saying: I remember that I wanted ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ to be a hidden bonus track—I thought it was too personal to be properly out there and on the album. The song not only hit #1 but it stayed on the charts for 123 weeks. Billboard ranked the song at #35 in their list of The All-Time Top 100 Songs. There are two versions of the song: the original version which was part of their Australian debut album and the international version which came later with the album’s release to Europe and America. The tracks feature different drum tracks. They also have different videos.
