☄️ Leonids · peak Nov 16 · ~15/hr · 🌗 moon 43%
Friday, November 6, 1908
– November 30, 1908
All day
Peak: November 16, 1908, around 17:00 UTC — up to about 15 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 43% lit: some moonlight, which will hide the fainter meteors. Meteors seem to come from Leo; the debris is from Comet Tempel–Tuttle. Every 33 years or so, near its comet's return, the Leonids can storm with thousands an hour.
