☄️ Leonids · peak Nov 16 · ~15/hr · 🌓 moon 48%
Wednesday, November 6, 1912
– November 30, 1912
All day
Peak: November 16, 1912, around 18:00 UTC — up to about 15 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 48% lit: some moonlight, which will hide the fainter meteors. Meteors seem to come from Leo; the debris is from Comet Tempel–Tuttle. Every 33 years or so, near its comet's return, the Leonids can storm with thousands an hour.
