☄️ Leonids · peak Nov 16 · ~15/hr · 🌗 moon 61%
Monday, November 6, 1916
– November 30, 1916
All day
Peak: November 16, 1916, around 18:00 UTC — up to about 15 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 61% lit: a bright Moon, which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. Meteors seem to come from Leo; the debris is from Comet Tempel–Tuttle. Every 33 years or so, near its comet's return, the Leonids can storm with thousands an hour.
