☄️ Leonids · peak Nov 16 · ~15/hr · 🌖 moon 77%

Thursday, November 6, 1924 – November 30, 1924 All day

Peak: November 16, 1924, around 20:00 UTC — up to about 15 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 77% lit: a bright Moon, which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. Meteors seem to come from Leo; the debris is from Comet Tempel–Tuttle. Every 33 years or so, near its comet's return, the Leonids can storm with thousands an hour.
