☄️ Lyrids · peak Apr 21 · ~18/hr · 🌗 moon 62%

Saturday, April 14, 1900 – April 30, 1900 All day

Peak: April 21, 1900, around 12:00 UTC — up to about 18 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 62% lit: a bright Moon, which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. Meteors seem to come from Lyra; the debris is from Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1). Among the oldest showers on record: Chinese astronomers saw them in 687 BC.
