☄️ Lyrids · peak Apr 22 · ~18/hr · 🌖 moon 75%

Thursday, April 14, 1927 – April 30, 1927 All day

Peak: April 22, 1927, around 10:00 UTC — up to about 18 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 75% lit: a bright Moon, which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. Meteors seem to come from Lyra; the debris is from Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1). Among the oldest showers on record: Chinese astronomers saw them in 687 BC.
