☄️ Lyrids · peak Apr 23 · ~18/hr · 🌔 moon 73%

Sunday, April 14, 2086 – April 30, 2086 All day

Peak: April 23, 2086, around 04:00 UTC — up to about 18 meteors an hour under a dark sky. The Moon will be 73% lit: a bright Moon, which will wash out all but the brightest meteors. Meteors seem to come from Lyra; the debris is from Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1). Among the oldest showers on record: Chinese astronomers saw them in 687 BC.
