🧪 Chemistry · Christian Anfinsen, Stanford Moore, and William H. Stein
Christian Boehmer Anfinsen Jr. was an American biochemist. He shared the 1972 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Stanford Moore and William Howard Stein for work on ribonuclease, especially concerning the connection between the amino acid sequence and the biologically active conformation. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1972, announced October 20, 1972. Christian Anfinsen (1/2), “for his work on ribonuclease, especially concerning the connection between the amino acid sequence and the biologically active conformation”. Stanford Moore (1/4), “for their contribution to the understanding of the connection between chemical structure and catalytic activity of the active centre of the ribonuclease molecule”. William H. Stein (1/4), “for their contribution to the understanding of the connection between chemical structure and catalytic activity of the active centre of the ribonuclease molecule”.
