Battleground (2016)
WWE pay-per-view and livestreaming event The 2016 Battleground was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE, held for wrestlers from the promotion's main roster brands, Raw and SmackDown. It was the fourth annual Battleground and took place on July 24, 2016, at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. This was the last event to feature WWE's full main roster before the reinstated brand extension went into full effect, excluding the "Big Four", as after the following month's SummerSlam, monthly PPV and livestreaming events became brand-exclusive until WrestleMania 34 in April 2018 when brand-exclusive PPV and livestreaming events were again discontinued. 411,005 views on July 25, 2016 — Wikipedia's most-read article that day.
