Francis Petrarch was an Italian scholar and poet of the early Italian Renaissance, as well as one of the earliest Renaissance humanists. July 27, 1304 – 1374; died at about 69. Alive at the same time as Marco Polo, William of Ockham, Giotto, Bayezid I, and Ibn Taymiyyah. Wiki link
